Project:  Master Plan

Architecture has the ability to solve daunting problems.  But before we use the complex tools of our trade, we employ techniques that are actually quite simple.  First we ask questions.  Then we listen.  Our experience suggests there's no problem this approach can't solve.

Alexandria Community Schools needed to address issues of space, usage, and functionality in their facilities.  The school corporation's budget was limited, however, and new construction simply wasn't feasible.  So we worked with them to assess and catalog the needs of every building in the school system.  Then, we created a document, complete with budgets, that outlined how to best address those needs on a building-by-building basis.  This master plan allowed decision-makers to prioritize projects according to a specific hierarchy.  At the top of the list: renovations to one elementary school that allowed the district to close a second, resulting in substantial savings.  Two separate refurbishing projects at the high school followed.  One step at a time, this school system is creating spaces that enhance the educational experience.
